Trans Pride OC 2022 is back and IN PERSON for FREE! Join us on September 24th from 12pm-6pm at the Mess Hall at Flight in Tustin! Our theme this year is centered around BLOSSOMING as individuals and community: While our years are faced with hardships, in which we learn resilience and gallantry, there calls a time for moments of rest and reflection. The transgender community is often expected to create their own spaces for free. It is within these spaces, much like any community, we find our moments of peace, Trans Pride provides rest. It provides connections. It provides community and reminds us that we are not alone in our journey. The transgender journey is one of reinvention. The LGBTQ Center Orange County and Orange County Human Relations welcomes students, parents, and community members to participate in our inaugural Community Dialogues, a collaborative event to highlight Bullying Prevention Awareness Month and share space for discussion and education. This event offers the opportunity to learn about hate prevention and advocacy to combat bullying, harassment, and violence happening in schools and the greater Orange County community. This event will take place in-person on Thursday, October 20th at our location, LGBTQ Center on Fourth, in Downtown Santa Ana. Parking is available in the nearby parking structure behind the building. All participants will be asked to wear a mask during the event. Orange County Professionals & Businesses that are part of the LGBTQ community and allies are welcome to join us for this new Professional Series. Each meeting will have a theme of what the evenings focus will be on with a guest speaker and/or panel. November 17th is our Second Professional Mixer in the series, with the topic "What Makes Me" and will explore mentorships, experiences, etc... that has allowed people to be successful, supported, and empowered in the workplace. This is primarily a mixer, so discussions will be limited to 20 minutes generally starting a half hour after the event starts along with a soft icebreaker. This is a FREE event at an LGBTQ supporting business, so we do ask you support them by purchasing a drink and/or other product. This event is open to everyone who wants to connect, share, and celebrate the Trans community in a safe and welcoming space. The theme of the event is "Stand in Your Truth," and we are excited to provide wellness and educational resources, along with an open mic where community members can sign up and share their poetry, writing, speeches, or experiences. We encourage all spoken artists to lean into the theme for inspiration and explore the many ways it speaks to their own experiences.
