Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20th)

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20th that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

This year, the LGBTQ Center OC and Trans Committee have developed and created two ways you can support and get involved. Please scroll to check out the different ways you can connect and honor the community. We will be host a virtual vigil event on November 20th and facilitating a community-wide virtual art wall (more info below).

How to get involved?

Virtual Vigil Event, November 20th at 5PM

Together on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at 5:00 PM our community will come together to honor the lives lost this past year to anti-transgender violence. Please join us in honoring these individuals and hearing from members of the community via Zoom.

TDOR Virtual Art Wall (Community Invitation)

We welcome any and all content creators to submit their artwork, poems, collages, and messages here! Your work will become part of a community mural to commemorate Transgender Day of Remembrance / TDOR 2021!

The art submitted will either be posted on our instagram @LgbtcenterOC or used during the November 20th event in a slideshow.

Submission Types Allowed:

– Poetry (Including slam poetry)

– Visual Collages

– Paintings

– Digital Art

– Any other form of visual media used to express the self and TDOR/the trans community
