  • Elevate Youth Leadership Group (ages 14-24)

    Elevate Youth:  A youth leadership group that focuses on mental health advocacy and substance use prevention advocacy through an LGBTQIA-inclusive lens. This group is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth, particularly in the intersections of mental health and substance use. Elevate Youth offers a wide range of events and activities, including the development of educational campaigns that raise awareness on critical issues, as well as offering opportunities for youth leadership and community organizing. The group also prioritizes community-building and education through interactive events that bring together young people to learn, share experiences, and build supportive networks. By focusing on both advocacy and action, Elevate Youth empowers its members to become informed and active participants in their communities, driving forward the conversation on mental health, substance use prevention, and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity. Meets on Thursdays from 6:30-7:00 pm. First Thursday is in-person at the LGBTQ Center OC and all other Thursdays are virtual. Contact:  justin.bartolome@lgbtqcenteroc.org    

  • Gay Male’s Processing Group (Ages 18+)

    The goals of this group are: to create a safe, comfortable place to express feelings, exploration of self through group process and reflection, enhancing sense of self through awareness and acceptance, and to support and be supported. Ages 18 and over.

  • InBetweeners (ages 10-13)

    Virtual

    InBetweeners provides a safe and supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied youth (or “tweens”) ages 10-13. It offers a social space for middle school youth who are exploring their identity and provides an inclusive environment for them to meet other peers and engage in fun activities and discussions suitable for their age group.  This is a virtual meeting.     This group is for adults 21+ that would like to practice their English conversation skills and to offer support to one another. We will be having conversations in English only and practicing listening in English in different common daily life scenarios (the market, the bank, in interviews, with neighbors, and more)  Every First Friday, 7pm-8:30pm

    Gender Flood is a social drop-in group for transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and gender-questioning young adults ages 18-26. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment in which one's gender may be freely expressed and respected. Get involved, meet others, and participate in engaging weekly discussions, activities, and community events! Important Note: This is a closed space facilitated by and for transgender adults (or any identities that fall under the umbrella.) We kindly ask to respect the space for *trans people only."

  • BreakOUT – Elevate (ages 12-17)

    BreakOUT Youth Process Group is an age-specific online processing group from ages 12 to 17. We meet every Monday night from 6:00-7:30 PM. BreakOUT is a supportive space for participants to navigate the everyday stressors in their lives. Group leaders facilitate discussions about various topics and activities such as identity, school/ home life, and more. BreakOUT's mission is to involve and engage with young LGBTQIA+ community members, allowing them to explore new strategies to cope as well as connect with their queer identity in a safe space with their peers.     VIVID- Validating and Including Voices in Diversity (ages 14-24)

    VIVID: A youth leadership group that focuses on community engagement, empowerment, and advocacy. We invite LGBTQIA+ youth, students, and allies ages 14-24 who are passionate about creating positive change within their schools and communities. VIVID provides a supportive space for members to develop leadership skills, collaborate on community-focused projects, and advocate for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and representation. Through VIVID, participants engage in various activities, including organizing and hosting community events and group activities. The group focuses on mentorship, peer support, and education, offering its members the opportunity to build confidence and leadership. Meets in-person on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:30 pm at the LGBTQ Center OC. Zoom option is available for youth who want to participate virtually.     Study With Pride is a tutoring group for LGBTQIA+ youth. Youth are invited to stop by for homework help and tutoring on topics, such as math, science, and writing. Everyone is welcomed to also hang out, socialize and take a break from school! We also offer a discord server for youth to hang out, post memes, and ask for help with school work, for more information contact the facilitator.
