Elevate Youth: A youth leadership group that focuses on mental health advocacy and substance use prevention advocacy through an LGBTQIA-inclusive lens. This group is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth, particularly in the intersections of mental health and substance use. Elevate Youth offers a wide range of events and activities, including the development of educational campaigns that raise awareness on critical issues, as well as offering opportunities for youth leadership and community organizing. The group also prioritizes community-building and education through interactive events that bring together young people to learn, share experiences, and build supportive networks. By focusing on both advocacy and action, Elevate Youth empowers its members to become informed and active participants in their communities, driving forward the conversation on mental health, substance use prevention, and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity. The LGBTQ Center OC is excited to announce its upcoming 2026 LGBTQ+ Youth Convening, a no-cost youth conference that is organized and led by youth leaders from VIVID, a coalition of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) student leaders and their allies focused on community action and engagement through a queer- and trans-inclusive lens. The 2025 LGBTQ+ Youth Convening will take place on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at Saddleback High School in Santa Ana. This event is open to youth, students, parents, guardians, families, school staff and administrators, counselors, professionals, and community members and organizers. We will provide two tracks with educational workshops geared towards youth and students and parents and professionals. Additionally, we will offer a community resource fair with over 50 local organizations offering a variety of resources, services, and opportunities. It will include interactive tabletop games and activities, giveaways, and information to ensure that you build connections, gain valuable information, and explore various community programs.
