  • Elevate Youth Leadership Group (ages 14-24)

    Elevate Youth:  A youth leadership group that focuses on mental health advocacy and substance use prevention advocacy through an LGBTQIA-inclusive lens. This group is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth, particularly in the intersections of mental health and substance use. Elevate Youth offers a wide range of events and activities, including the development of educational campaigns that raise awareness on critical issues, as well as offering opportunities for youth leadership and community organizing. The group also prioritizes community-building and education through interactive events that bring together young people to learn, share experiences, and build supportive networks. By focusing on both advocacy and action, Elevate Youth empowers its members to become informed and active participants in their communities, driving forward the conversation on mental health, substance use prevention, and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity. Meets on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 pm. First Thursday is in-person at the LGBTQ Center OC and all other Thursdays are virtual. Contact:  justin.bartolome@lgbtqcenteroc.org

    Gender Flood is a social drop-in group for transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and gender-questioning young adults ages 18-26. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment in which one's gender may be freely expressed and respected. Get involved, meet others, and participate in engaging weekly discussions, activities, and community events! Important Note: This is a closed space facilitated by and for transgender adults (or any identities that fall under the umbrella.) We kindly ask to respect the space for *trans people only."

  • InBetweeners (ages 10-13)

    InBetweeners provides a safe and supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied youth (or “tweens”) ages 10-13. It offers a social space for middle school youth who are exploring their identity and provides an inclusive environment for them to meet other peers and engage in fun activities and discussions suitable for their age group. Activities include arts and crafts, creative writing, discussions, movie nights, and group-building activities. This is a virtual meeting.     Study With Pride is a tutoring group for LGBTQIA+ youth. Youth are invited to stop by for homework help and tutoring on topics, such as math, science, and writing. Everyone is welcomed to also hang out, socialize and take a break from school! We also offer a discord server for youth to hang out, post memes, and ask for help with school work, for more information contact the facilitator.

    Quartz is a social drop-in group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied youth ages 13-18. Three adult mentors facilitate group activities and discussions to provide a safe and supportive environment, where youth can make lifelong connections with their peers and develop a positive sense of identity. On a monthly basis, we invite guest speakers from different community organizations to speak in order to increase the educational component of our program. Youth are able to learn about different topics, such as STI and HIV prevention, relationships and setting boundaries, consent, dating, sexual self-care, gender identity, coming out, advocacy, empowerment, student rights, bullying and harassment, drugs and alcohol, mental health and suicide prevention.

    Out for Stem offers a free, supportive and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ youth and allies ages 13-17 who are passionate for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics. Through group activities, educational workshops, and guest speakers, we aim to empower and support the next generation of STEM leaders within the LGBTQIA+ community here in Orange County!
