VIVID: A youth leadership group that focuses on community engagement, empowerment, and advocacy. We invite LGBTQIA+ youth, students, and allies ages 14-24 who are passionate about creating positive change within their schools and communities. VIVID provides a supportive space for members to develop leadership skills, collaborate on community-focused projects, and advocate for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and representation. Through VIVID, participants engage in various activities, including organizing and hosting community events and group activities. The group focuses on mentorship, peer support, and education, offering its members the opportunity to build confidence and leadership. Meets in-person on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 pm at the LGBTQ Center OC. Zoom option is available for youth who want to participate virtually. OUTlet is intended to create a safe space for youth to talk about mental health issues, create healthy relationships with others, and learn tools to understand, manage, and decrease symptoms of mental health. This group will teach youth how to build insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and learn how to communicate their needs and wants in a healthy assertive manner. Lastly, with an emphasis on maladaptive coping skills including self-medicating with substances, isolating, or engaging in risky behaviors, youth will learn to develop coping skills needed to manage symptoms on a long-term basis. OUTlet meets virtually and in person every Tuesday at 5:30 to 7:00 pm. A safe community for LGBTQIA2S+ folks to explore spirituality.
